  • Our time at Le Jardin du Berger was superb. The Gite was extremely comfortable, well equipped with all that you need and in excellent condition. Bronwen and John made us and our dog Maddie feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. There are some lovely places to visit without having to drive too far, with a large supermarket less than 10km away. The area is very good for cycling too. With the nature of the rolling countryside longer rides could be made quite challenging where required. If you are looking for some peace and tranquility, then you won't go too far wrong by staying here. With views over the surrounding countryside it's perfect for watching the sun go down, looking over the pool, bbq on and a glass of wine on the go.

  • Wonderful!

Darryl and I and our two teenage children had such a relaxing week here in the August sunshine. Beautiful, peaceful setting amidst the sunflowers, stunning. The gite, pool and garden were lovely: comfortable, well organised and with lots of little extras that really make a difference. We had everything we needed and more, both inside and out. Great WiFi too!

John and Bronwen, the owners, were so nice - friendly, helpful and unobtrusive.

Plenty to do and see within easy driving distance. We had a great time with a large 3 person canoe and a SUP on the Charente river at Vindelle near Angouleme. Base Canoe offer various options and we enjoyed a shuttle bus service upriver and a 5k meander by ourselves downriver - gorgeous. We also enjoyed our day trip to Bordeaux.

    Recommended!

  • We highly recommend this well-equipped (with many thoughtful additions) gite in a most beautiful and peaceful garden setting with an ultra clean pool. Incredibly helpful yet wonderfully discreet owners just embarking upon their new career made us all, dog included, fantastically comfortable and welcome.

  • Stunning peaceful setting, we had sunflowers and grape vines as far as the eye can see. Owners couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Well equipped and comfortable accommodation, even small library of DVDs and reading books. Loads of room for kids to run around, bigger than expected pool, plus private space for eating, we had some amazing sunsets. Quiet roads from the doorstep and footpaths, I had a couple of long runs in the cool of the morning. Plenty to do within 30mins drive (we visited a chateaux, lake/beach, waterpark, local market).
